Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
Let’s better understand your brain and help you work with it not against it.
If you’re reading this, you may have spent a lot of your life wondering why certain things seem harder for you than they appear to be for everyone else. Maybe you struggle with focus, organization, time management, overwhelm, procrastination, or following through—even when you genuinely want to.
Perhaps you’re tired of feeling like you need to try harder, be more disciplined, or finally “get it together.” You may have spent years masking, overcompensating, or feeling frustrated with yourself for the ways your brain works differently.
Here’s what I want you to know: you are not lazy, broken, or failing.
At Thrive with Hope, ADHD and neurodivergent-affirming therapy is about understanding how your brain works and finding strategies that actually work for you. Together, we can explore your strengths, challenges, patterns, and the impact ADHD or neurodivergence may have on your daily life, relationships, emotions, and sense of self.
You don't have to force yourself into systems that were never designed for you. Therapy can help you better understand yourself, work with your brain, and create a life that feels more manageable, authentic, and sustainable.
ADHD can look different for everyone, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Evidence-Based and Neurodivergent-Affirming Approaches
I work with individuals navigating ADHD and other neurodivergent experiences, recognizing that no two people (or brains) are exactly alike, Let’s be real. Below are some of the therapeutic approaches and evidence-based practices I may draw from based on your individual needs, goals, and experiences.
Evidence-based approaches
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — Identifying patterns, thoughts, and behaviors that may contribute to overwhelm, procrastination, anxiety, or self-criticism.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — Building skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and managing overwhelming emotions.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches — Increasing awareness, improving present-moment focus, and developing a more compassionate relationship with your thoughts and experiences.
Psychoeducation — Better understanding ADHD, neurodivergence, executive functioning, and how your brain works.
Executive Functioning Strategies — Developing practical systems and tools for organization, time management, planning, task initiation, and follow-through (That aren’t me telling you to get a planner)
Strengths-Based and Collaborative Therapy — Identifying your strengths and creating strategies that work with your brain rather than against it.
Neurodivergent-Affirming Care — Creating space to better understand and support your unique needs without viewing neurodivergence as something that needs to be “fixed.”
